Time Flies when your working-or not.....

I will admit now, I had a very lazy summer. I am now self employed, since the beginning of August. From February until the end of July, I was busy with my "new" job, but got it caught up,organized and worked myself out of full time-oops! However, being self employed did give me my first lazy summer since between grade 11 & 12.
Wasn't a complete slug though.Managed to (with the help of my landlady) move a ton of stuff out of my storage room, completely cleaned it out, and have selectively put some stuff back. Also cleaned out my studio/livingroom space-everything in the garage! Painted it Margarita Green! Its fresh and bright and I love it! Now again selectively, putting things back into my space. However, alot of my creative stuff is still in the garage. Studio space is next!

Also-and I am very excited about it-working on an artworkshop that I will be putting on with my best friend Sandi, in February. I miss teaching so much I practically cry everytime I talk about it, so this is for Me! There are so many things I want to teach that is not completely scrapbooking, but uses all those scrapbook supplies-hmmmm maybe my previous post would be a good class......

I will post more about the workshop once I get the venue settled. Going to take a poll about my embroidered bags as a class.

Going Monet on it....

The best laid plans.....
Okay, so almost a month has passed and my whole world has changed. For the better, but its been busy for the last month. I got a new job, less hours, more pay, more time to play!
I have been a teeny bit creative, trying to get done things for swaps. I used my distress inks to dye silk and then I went "Monet on it". Waterlilies in silk ribbon, with painted pads. Thats it so far on that piece-of which there will be two, cause my lilies ended up upside down on the first one. At least upside down for the bag that was to be made from it-now it will be a pretty picture type thingy. And I had completed a third piece, another amulet bag, but am going to change it. The beads on the side are bugging me-to heavy. This one is dyed with Tattered Rose Distress Ink and stamped with Ancient Page Sage green ink and painted with Twinkling H2O's. Its beaded and handstitched together. Roses are made with Sari Ribbon I've been hoarding cause its just tooo pretty.Crocheted with some silky embroidery floss for hanging. And yes, this is something I am just going to "give away". The bookmarks were also a swap. Played with my masks and new stamps I got from Amanda at Everafter. Love Cornish Heritage Farms stamps! Its been awhile since I did them-had to be mid January, cause the swap was due Feb 1st. I think I started out with a greenish background paper from Basic Grey 6x6 piece, placed my masks, then Distress Inked with Broken China. Stamped images with some small FancyPants designs, white chalk ink pen detail, and then stamped the verses. Oh yeah, and handstitched around the patterned paper, just cause!
Okay, now I feel slightly redeemed. Haven't been a total creative slug!
Ohhh and I may have some more big news next week, so watch for it!!
Time to sleep.

It has been far to long from my blog. So my new years goal is to blog at least twice a week and be creative at least twice as well. The creative part maybe a problem-the muse is having a little chaos problem. For those that don't know me, I am a creative slob. Yes admitting it cyberspace may be the first step into recovery. And neatness (at least my friends hope so). I do have a plan, and though it involves slightly drastic measures and a mini home renovation, I do have plan. The plan is ......
to move out! Well not me, the mess, the abundance of craft supplies, will temporarily move to a storage space a couple of blocks away, the home will be super cleaned, painted and have all kinds of organizer thingys. At the storage space, all supplies will be organized to go into their new organizer thingys. And then the muse will be comfortable and more importantly, CREATIVE again! Here's to sending it all into cyberspace like a magical wish that will come true!

I want to stitch

I'm working on swaps from www.atcsforall.com. Love this site-I get to create little bits of art that goes to good homes. And I get mail back! Inspiring bits of other artists-all for the cost of postage. This is the way to build an "art collection".
At the moment, and due in Germany June 1st, are mini ATC's. 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches of art. And I think, I want to stitch-pretty ribbon flowers, french knot posies and maybe some beads......
I'll post pics as soon as they are done-but in the meantime, the photo above are the ATC envelopes I made for another swap. If you've ever taken a class of mine, you already know I have a "thing" for envelopes. This swap just reinforced it. (sorry its a bit blurry-not a great photographer at 2am...)

My Blog Title Photo

I LOVE this photo of Cosmo. Actually made me cry when it came up on my computer screen the first time. This beautiful picture was taken last fall, by my talented friend, Daniela Sitar, and you can check out more of her work at www.danielasitarphotography.ca . An incredible baby and family photographer, she was up to the challenge of my less than always cooperative beastie. My CD of images is in colour and black & white, and I am even loving the pictures that include me! Thanks again Daniela for capturing the spirit of my "puppy love".

I have succumbed...

to the blog-side. Never thought I'd get this far, but hey, been hooked on facecrack, why not add to the addiction that doesn't destroy my skin or make me gain / lose weight. Time however, hopefully will be well spent.
